Dearest Judy,
Happy birthday! Today marks the 70th anniversary of the day of your birth. The Lord has given me the privilege of knowing and loving you for over 50 years – probably 52 or 53! I have seen you grow from a quiet, timid girl to a mature Christian lady – confident, gracious and sometimes when necessary, a very forceful lady. I mean this in the most positive way – you’ve had to be. Not only have you had to put up with me for all these years, but you have also needed to compensate for my injury! You have done very well.
You have been both a supportive and loving helpmate for me. Almost always, you have put me and others ahead of yourself. Over the years, I’ve seen you sacrifice for others, again for me and our children. I recall many times you have gone without – goods and sleep – so that others could have what they needed or wanted. You are the most compassionate and loving person I know. God has truly blessed me with a Proverbs 31 woman – far more than I deserve.
You have served our Lord well in our marriage, our family, the church and community. Your compassion is genuine and easily recognized by others. I am continually amazed by your abilities and willingness to use them for others –especially me. Your recall is as impressive as your ability to synthesize. You put things (ideas, events, facts, axioms, concepts, etc.) together it a most useful way. And you do it so quickly! Although you still don’t know what I am thinking all the time, you usually come close most of the time!
Over the years you have given me and our family many memorable birthdays and other special days. I’m sorry we haven’t fussed over you as you deserve. I hope that this year will be a cherished memory. We want you to feel really loved!
I love you very much and I think you are superwoman and the lady from Proverbs 31 combined!
Happy birthday and much love,
Kip
